About Me
My name is Della Credicott and I am the crafty creator behind Coast Ornaments. Welcome to my corner of the web where I'm sharing my love of creating and collecting Christmas ornaments.
My creativity has been a cornerstone of my being my entire life.
I was the kid who was busy making doll furniture from cigarette boxes while my siblings watched Saturday morning cartoons. Or using carpet samples from my local furniture store and wallpaper samples from the local home decor store to decorate my cardboard box doll houses. Or crocheting or sewing clothes for my dolls and myself.
I was that kid. In fact, I was always so busy doing something that my brother nicknamed me "Do", an endearing moniker that has stuck for over 60 years!
At a young age I learned to paint, sew, embroider and crochet. I started creating my own crochet patterns by the time I reached my mid-teens (little did I realize I could have made a career selling those!)
Then I picked up knitting, tried my hand at ceramics, a bit of woodworking and even screen printing. I started young and I just keep learning and exploring new ways to express my creativity. And I love it!
A variety of the ornaments I've made recently
I have always loved Christmas and while I do adore beautifully shaped, sparkly glass ornaments, I also really enjoy making ornaments - from all kinds of materials. I love crochet and knit and virtually any medium that could be classified as "arts and crafts".
Back in my teens and twenties I made ornaments to save money (actually I made most of my gifts for the same reason). But the older I've gotten the more I realize I don't make things to save money, I make things because I have to. I am a creator, a maker and I am most happy when I'm using my creativity to figure out how to repurpose an item, or learning how to make something that sparks my interest or just by actually making things. The whole process from inception to final product is so fulfilling to me.
Complete transparency? Making Christmas ornaments isn't my only crafty outlet. Recent projects have included blankets, beanies, wall art, gloves and dolls. I'm always doing something!

The other thing I love? Sharing my ideas, techniques and how to tips and tricks with others. I'm here to inspire and guide you.
